I started spending childhood summers on my grandparents farm when I was 4.  By the time I was 6, my grandmother was looking for something to keep me entertained when there were no cousins around to play with… She sat me down and taught me to crochet and I was, well, hooked.

I would work at it off and on and during college I stopped entirely. When she passed away a few years ago I picked it up again and haven’t stopped. One fall, a friend of mine sat me down and taught me the basics of knitting and I've been busy with it ever since. For me, knitting provides the capability to make a fabric and the two skills together make things very handy!

I am currently a Memphis, TN resident though I have lived all over the Southeast and in Sicily and Naples, Italy also!

From a professional perspective, I have 33 years experience in Crochet, 16 years Knitting, 11 years spinning, and 2 years weaving!  I have served as the President of the local Knitting Guild and have formed and led several recreational knitting groups in various communities over the years.  In 2014, with some local fiber friends, I formed the Tenntucky Fiber Arts organization.  Through TFA we planed and ran our own retreats in the Land Between The Lakes area in southern Kentucky before dissolving the org in 2018.

I am extremely passionate about the fiber arts and am eager to give back to the fiber arts community that has given me so much during my life!
